My opinion on offensive language:
et-tu-dionysus:
If a word is offensive to a group of people, I won’t use it. Simple stuff. If someone else uses that word, I’ll call them out on it. If they use that word while saying something good (e.g. “Misogyny is retarded!”), I’ll appreciate their message but still call them out on it.

I’m really tired of this attitude that the radical community seems to have towards the issue. I don’t agree with Israel’s form of government. I think a lot of their policies are really fucked up, actually. And I don’t agree that a war based solely on nationalism is justified. (Let alone war in general.) But I do know that it isn’t just about nationalism. Think about...

Republicans in the House are trying to redefine rape to mean only violent rape, i.e. if you didn’t fight back, if you were drugged, if you’re 13 and a 24 year old rapes you, if you’re of ‘limited mental capacity’, if you were drunk, if you were on a date, it wasn’t rape.
And if you get pregnant in the process and can’t afford an abortion…basically they are saying fuck you.

In Portraits of White Racism David Wellman (1993) has defined racism as “culturally sanctioned beliefs, which, regardless of intentions involved, defend the advantages whites have because of the subordinated position of racial minorities,”(Wellman 1993: x).
Sociologists Noel Cazenave and Darlene Alvarez Maddern define racism as “…a highly organized system of ‘race’-based group...

Fun fact: “Jewish” is not actually a personality trait. Look, I take no deep offense when someone does this; my attachment to my religion is mostly based on the traditions and the food, as opposed to the whole “god” deal. But the thing is, when you say you’re “way into Jewish guys” or “only going to marry a Jew”, what you really mean is:

Doppelganger
1. In fiction, folklore, and popular culture, a doppelganger is a tangible double of a living person that typically represents evil. The word is also used to describe the sensation of having glimpsed oneself in peripheral vision, in a position where there is no chance that it could have been a reflection. Doppelgangers are often perceived as a sinister form of bilocation and generally regarded as...
Disney’s Male Execs Stop Making Movies Starring... →
At first it seems like possible good news. Disney/ Pixar announces: no more fairy tales, code for princess movies. Great! No more damsels in distress who end the movie by landing a man. Now we’re going to have a slew of new movies with cool girl heroes who bravely rescue boys from peril, exuding power and beauty by performing all kinds of risk-taking tasks and challenges.
But, no.
First of...
